Amazon FBM vs FBA

Amazon offer two ways to sell on their platform; FBM & FBA.

The first is FBM (Fulfillment-by-Merchant).

This means that when you sell a product on Amazon. You need to package the item, then post to the buyer. Usually within a certain time frame using tracked mail.

You will be responsible for any customer service and issues the customer may have. For many, this can be daunting, but luckily, Amazon have made things easier with a service called FBA.

Amazon FBA

Amazon have a program called FBA (Fulfillment-by-Amazon).

With FBA, you send your products directly to Amazon’s warehouses. Amazon stores your products (inventory); and when someone purchases your product, Amazon then picks, packs and sends your product to the customer.

Apart from sending your items to a designated Amazon warehouse, they do the rest of the work.

Through the Amazon FBA program, Amazon also manages all customer support and any refunds.

There is a monthly fee for this service, but it is the number 1 way to avoid thousands of inventory items cluttering your house/office/spare room and it takes the stress out of dealing direct with customers.
